Education and support are the best ways to prepare and succeed in the breastfeeding relationship. We acknowledge that every family has their own dynamics, expectations, and comfort levels when it comes time to choose how they will feed their baby, and we’re here to help! Village Birth offers lactation support groups, a Breastfeeding and Bottle Feeding Class, and a resident lactation consultant (IBCLC) who can help you thrive in your breastfeeding, pumping and/or formula feeding journey.

Evonne Smith, IBCLC is a board-certified lactation consultant, newborn care specialist, intuitive healer and integrative newborn sleep consultant. Since 2014, she’s been supporting new parents with practical, holistic support through one of life’s biggest transitions. Lactation Consults (In-home, in-office or virtual): We hear all sorts of ideas about how breastfeeding “should” look or work, but the reality is that things often don’t go according to plan. Breastfeeding doesn’t have to look just one way, but it should look your way. We’ll help you shape a flexible breastfeeding plan that works for you and your baby.
Intuitive Healing Sessions for Mom and Baby: “relaxation sessions” are very gentle and safe for mom and baby. Benefits: Relieves stress and burnout, promotes relaxation and supports nervous system regulation, helps restore energy flow in the physical and emotional body, and integrates mother and baby after a difficult birth
Lactation and Mindfulness Support Group
Mondays 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, starting Oct 10
(Winter schedule: no group on Nov 28, Dec 26, or Jan 2)

A space for cultivating connection with other breastfeeding (and pumping) parents, led by a holistic lactation consultant, newborn care expert, and intuitive healer. Share with and learn from each other, weigh your baby, get support on the tough days and celebrate your breastfeeding wins with people who get it. See you in the circle!
Breast and Bottle Feeding Class In this interactive class you’ll learn everything you need to get ready for breastfeeding your little one in the real world. $95 per couple
I spend more time with you than most providers, because I take the time to truly listen to your needs, feelings, and desires (especially the unspoken ones). I’m very thorough and patient. My approach is holistic and gentle, and families feel calm and supported when in my presence.
I also have a talent for explaining complex concepts in simple language, so that you can fully understand what’s going on with your body and your baby. After all, you’re new to this and you probably aren’t getting much sleep!
